There will be other nice self catering apartments in
Plymouth, but none of them will have a location quite
like the Barbican Base. You couldn't be better located
to experience the historic Barbican and all the attractions
that it has to offer.
|
 |
Yet despite this location you get levels of peace and privacy
that you would usually only find in houses much further
from the city centre. The courtyard is set back from the
street to eliminate the vast majority of the bustle and
noise, and the gated entrances provide good levels of
securtiy.

We really do go out of our way to make your stay as enjoyable
as possible. The free
connection service is a good example of this. But
we also provide a comprehensive guide to days out in the
area (the information on this website
is just a summary of some of our suggestions). And if
you have any further queries about things to do, you can
call us directly
for advice and information.

Barbican Base is not just somewhere to sleep; it is
somewhere you can feel at home. It is a house, spread
over two floors, and not just a large bedsit. There's
plenty to keep you entertained in the living room; the
kitchen is fully equipped to allow you to cook proper
meals and the roof garden provides a great place to eat
or relax in the sun.
|
 |
There are a number of touches that make Barbican Base
great value. Discounted
rates may be available; the sofa bed in the
lounge allows for a great value stay for four people;
and it is not just towels and linen that are provided;
on request we can also provide a travel cot, and a selection
of games and DVDs to keep you entertained during your
stay. |

Plymouth offers a great mix of the city and the country
break. All around the South West there is spectacular
coastline, easily accessible from Plymouth. And north
of the city the wild open spaces of Dartmoor National
Park beckon. Yet a few minutes
from your apartment there are theatres, concert
venues, cinemas and large shopping centres.
|
 |
Staying in the Barbican puts you right amidst the history
of the city. Visit the point from which the Pilgrim Fathers
set off to discover the New World, or wander around Plymouth
Hoe, where Sir Francis Drake famously finished his game
of boules before going off to fight the Spanish Armada.
|
 |
There are a number of world-class attractions to visit
during your stay in Plymouth. Some, such as the National
Marine Aquarium (Britain's foremost aquarium; home to
the deepest tank in Europe) and the art-deco, saltwater
Tinside Lido, are right on
your doorstep. Other such as Cornwall's famous
Eden Project (as featured in the James Bond film, Die
Another Day) are a
little further, but well worth the trip.
|
 |
The Barbican has a bustling cafe culture during the
day and in the evening offers some of the finest nightlife
in Plymouth. Friendly pubs or smart bars; fresh seafood
restaurants
or fine dining at national award-winning restaurants -
the Barbican has something for every taste.

Plymouth makes an unrivalled base from which to explore
the wider region of Devon and Cornwall. A short way east
along the coast you have some of the most popular tourist
resorts of Devon. Heading west, Plymouth is the gateway
to Cornwall, with charming fishing villages just a short
drive away. Making Cornwall even more accessible the Cawsand
ferry will pick you up just metres from the apartment. |
